Germany to Holland(the Netherlands)04-22-14

After an uneventful flight to Dusseldorf, we picked up our car and headed for Amsterdam.  After checking in our hotel, we took a break and started exploring Leiden.  A bit of history..Leiden was the jumping off place for the original pilgrims that came over on the Mayflower.  They left here in a ship, found not to be seaworthy, then switched over to the Mayflower in England.
Driving in a foreign country  presents its own challenges.  When you cannot speak the language or read the written word, you just have to be careful.  How did we ever get along without a gps?
After a Dutch dinner in downtown Leiden, we returned to our hotel for a good nights rest.  The weather here is very nice and as soon as I finish this entry we are going to Keukenhof, Holland.  Think of Holland and you automatically think of tulips.  We are told there are over 7 million tulips there.  We will see.
